Master Bedroom Reveal

Today, I thought I’d give all of you a glimpse into one of our favorite and “finished” rooms of the house! (Although we know no room is ever actually finished…hehe ) I absolutely lOve our master bedroom. It is such a retreat after a long day and the calming color scheme really brings the outdoors in. One of the things that achieve that is our comforter. It not only serves as the focal point of the room, but the pops of green throughout the pattern really reflect the colors found in nature. I just love walking in and seeing the cheerful poppy print and getting to enjoy the gorgeous view right outside our window - all in the same room!!!

Peter and I have been busy these last few days here at Lower Mountain and I’m excited to show you what we’ve been up to!!! First, we’ve begun a makeover of what we imagine being our office/guest room/reading room, it will be a warm, relaxing space for anyone in the house to enjoy :) Can’t wAit to reveal the final look when all the details come together...but until then we’re happy to give you a sneak peek at what the room looked like before we started and some of the progress we’ve made...hehe

"Pallet-Style" Subway Art Tutorial

I was truly inspired by all the subway art that seems so popular right now and couldn’t wait to have such a bold graphic piece on display in our home. I would’ve bought one but after lOts of looking and not finding one with a phrase I liked Peter suggested I make it myself...hehe soo I did! With his help of course ;) I was set on making it “pallet style” with a little extra detail to give it interest, and created my own stencils. I keep mine up year round, but if you use this saying it’d be a very sweet sentiment to have on display for Valentine’s Day!!

I've been dying to share this space with all of you since the second I took these photos...just couldn't get them up fast enough!!! hehe So here's what all the excitement is about...I snatched up some pillows at TJ Maxx the other day and gave our living room a whole new look!!

Have you ever gone to the store and saw exactly what you had been waiting for..yesterday, I did!!!! Let me tell you if ya love Target as much as I do then you should definitely schedule a stop on your next shopping trip :) why you ask? Only because in store now is one of the most on trend patterns this season..CHEVRON!!!

Welcome to the very first post of Life at Lower Mountain!!! I’m soOo excited to start sharing my take on life, style and design here at our new home. Peter, my fiancé, and I just moved in a few weeks ago and I cAn’t wait to show all of you around as we settle in and start to turn this place into a home.
